INTRODUCTION:

There's not shortage of ways for a guy to have a lot of fun in Los Angeles, and if you want to get 'stuck' in some sexy situations with a lot of other hot and eager men, there are a couple loosely prison-themed sex clubs where the punishment sure does seem like pleasure. Slammer Los Angeles has been around for a while, and considering how much the staff is willing to upgrade its features and facilities, it's going to be around for many years to come.

The gay community in Los Angeles has always been one of the largest in the country, and because of that, the quality of every sort of experience is always going to be amazing. Slammer Los Angeles is able to attract a huge selection of guys from across the age and race spectrum every single night, although it's definitely dialled up to eleven on weekends. This is sort of after-party you attend if you don't want to drop names, but your pants and your inhibitions.

ABOUT:

The Slammer Los Angeles has been around for years, and you can tell that over all this time they've really figured out the best way to set up a hot gay sex club that will leave their customers totally fulfilled but always wanting more. Once you leave the main social area - which has a bar counter and some table and chairs (no alcoholic drinks, though, just water and soda) - there is a large dimly lit room with some private booths nearby if you've already met up with someone. There's the glory hole area, and nearby that are the two complete dark (ANON) rooms, where you really have no idea who you're touching and who's touching you, but that's the whole point! They even have a small maze area, with hanging slings and benches once you 'find' someone who you're interested in.

If you want to take a breather, or at least get out of the dark for a bit, then even have an outdoor patio area with a fire pit, although I can't recall ever seeing anyone use it for grilling. I wouldn't be surprised if it's used from time to time, because the staff here does a great job at making sure all the services and features are in tip top shape. Parking is free, and they have plenty of lockers. It is especially impressive considering how affordable it is, with $40 being the price for your first visit (because it includes the initial membership fee), but then goes down to $16 for each visit after that. Plus they have some really great daily specials and discounts.

FEATURES:

-located near East Hollywood on Beverly Blvd, close to the 101 interchange and the metro station

-age restriction is eighteen years and up, and photo ID must be shown

-club opens a 8PM Monday through Friday, and 2PM Saturday and Sunday, and doesn't close until 4AM (staying open even later of Friday and Saturday, until 5AM)

-a membership can be purchased when attending for the first time, and it's five months for $24, plus the $16 door fee for each visit, or a one-time $30 entry fee (no membership) is also available

-plenty of specials and theme nights, just to make each visit that much more arousing. Mondays are Fetish Gear Nights (where rewards can be won), Tuesdays are gym nights (save $3 on the door fee with a valid gym membership), Wet Wednesdays celebrate those who enjoy watersports, Early Bird Specials during the weekend (save $2 on the door fee when arriving before 6PM)

-they open early on public holidays, so you can celebrate everything from Memorial Day to Thanksgiving before dinner

-discount deals for those between the ages of eighteen and twenty five, where membership and door fees are half price

-after midnight on Mondays, membership and door fees are half price

-plenty of x-rated playspaces hole-in-walls, BDSM benches and chairs, slings, and glory-hole setups

-a great social area to drink (non-alcoholic) and socialize before going into the hotter areas

-an outdoor patio gives you a great chance to relax in the sun

-cash only, although they have an ATM in the front

-free parking

-lockers available, but they're single use, so only open it once when you're done

-easy to get the latest club updates through their twitter feed

-free HIV testing on certain evenings

CONCLUSION:

When it comes to the Slammer Los Angeles, lock me up and throw away the key. I don't care how corny it sounds, because this place is everything you could possibly want from a gay sex club. On the practical side, it's super easy to get to, even if you don't have a car, the prices are great and if you're nervous you can always hang around the social area to get a feel for the place. The staff and other members are happy to chat you up.

Once you're ready to have some fun, you can be guaranteed that the huge crowd will take care of you in every way you're comfortable with (everyone is definitely looking out for everyone else to make sure no one is being forced into anything). It doesn't matter if you like some kinky BDSM stuff or even just some making out and fondling on a bench, there's always a match for you, no swiping right required.

Pros
  • At first you you wouldn't really think that what makes the Slammer Los Angeles one of the best gay sex clubs in the city is its fantastic customer service, but it's true. Being able to keep things new and fresh is what keeps the same people coming back, and draws in new members. The owners definitely listen to their patrons, because they've definitely renovated and upgraded certain sections that a lot of people were asking for. New equipment, great social areas outside of the play rooms (I've had a nice time just chatting with some of the people who work behind the bar), it's really easy to feel relaxed here no matter how many people attend.

Around midnight on a Saturday or Sunday, there can be over one hundred people there, all with a one track mind. This means there's always a core group of people who attend regularly, and I've been happy to see that this goes beyond age and background. Guys in their twenties and the way into their fifties, and it was white guys, black guys, asian guys, and latino guys. It felt like a true rainbow.

Having said that, though, on the exact opposite end of the spectrum, I really enjoyed The Anon(ymous) rooms, where the whole point is you don't know who is putting what were, but man does it ever feel amazing.

Cons
  • A few of the 'regulars' I recognized after a couple visits were usually wearing flip-flops, and suddenly I realized that's a pretty good idea in an older place like this. Suddenly I was noticing that the floor could probably be washed and cleaned a bit more often. They have a good staff, but it's hard to 'keep up' with how many things are happening in a sweaty, dark mass of hundreds of people on a Saturday night.

It's a bit of a shame that you can't drink on the premise (the bar only serves water, juice, etc.), but I can understand it would add another level of problems. Usually people who arrive later in the night have already had a few, anyway, and they can sometimes be a handful.

Finally, I don't want to seem like I'm talking down on anyone's kinks, but make sure you know that Wet Wednesdays means that it attracts guys who are really into watersports, and while consent is always essential, in certain positions there is a chance that some splashes of someone's nearby urine can land on you.
