Soiree Carnalis Boston Sex Club Review

INTRODUCTION:

Some people might say that the internet has made it harder for people to connect face to face, but I think that just means you're not using it correctly. Yes, if you just want to bury your nose in the screen, that's all you get, but the internet has also made it possible for a lot of people who might want to connect in real life connect through cyberspace first. I can't imagine how you would be able to join a sex club before the internet, because it's not like that would be in the phone book.

For my partner and I, we were always interested in the possibility of trying an open relationship (not just because I travel a lot, but because we thought it might be fun), but we were hesitant to take a step into an actual sex club. Thanks to a google search and some message boards, we found this great swingers club that's focused on the Boston area called Soiree Carnalis, and it's just as fun and fancy as its name suggests. Hosting various events across the city, it was a great opportunity to meet a lot of other sexy people and learn a lot about ourselves, too.

ABOUT:

It was actually reassuring that as soon as you go to the website for Soiree Carnalis, they tell you that you can't join up right away. It's easy to take the club a lot more seriously when they explain the vetting process and how important it is that you pay your monthly club fees, even if you are unable to attend any of the events for that month. All this put my partner and I at ease, because it means the administrators aren't out for a quick buck, and they only want people who are willing to commit to the time and effort to actually wait a bit before being allowed to come by and have a great time.

You even have to go to a meet and greet and begin paying membership fees ($40 per month for a couple, cheaper for single women, more expensive for single men) before you can attend the parties, which take place across Boston at various locations, from rented clubs or halls to hotel room suites. Almost all of them are centrally located to make it as easy as possible to reach. Once there, it may take a moment to get your bearings, but it can help that you recognize some of the people from before. And then it just becomes another party you might attend, only this time people are dressed extremely sexy. With drinks flowing and appetizers being nibbled, you might meet another couple and decide to head back to a play area to have a lot more fun.

Soiree Carnalis does a great job at making these parties more interesting by adding themes or contests, all of which make for great icebreakers before things can get a lot hotter and heavier.

FEATURES:

-a non-profit organization which hosts several parties in the Boston area several times a year

-was created with the intention of having a sex-positive environment where all fantasies and orientations are welcome

-parties are free to attend, but you must continue to pay your monthly dues, even if you choose not to attend any parties that month

CONCLUSION:

When it comes to having a great time in the swinging community all over the greater Boston area, Soiree Carnalis is definitely one of the best sex clubs to join. The membership fees are reasonable, and it is very well organized with an enthusiastic, fun, and exciting group of people who definitely like to get a bit down and dirty a couple times a month.

Open relationships may not be everybody, but they are certainly becoming more popular over time, and that means there's never been a better moment to take that sex leap forward - either buy yourself or with your partner - and join Soiree Carnalis.

Pros
  • I'd say that the best thing about Soiree Carnalis is how easy it is to get to know the people in the club. At actual sex club places, where it's a nightclub that has a swingers area in the back, anonymity and privacy is the name of the game, where it's possible to spend a wild time in a BDSM-themed lounge and you'll never know your partner's name. At Soiree Carnalis, it becomes a bit more personal, because the location changes, and the members stay the same. You can't help but recognize and remember people here a lot more, and that's actually exciting, where you can re-connect, reminisce, and re-learn with former partners.

You can see the enthusiasm at the theme events, where people can dress up in a certain style (with a sexy twist of course), and there can be prizes for the best costume. While the halloween party is always an obvious one, I've really enjoyed the 'Eyes Wide Shut' events - which is clearly very popular within the swinging community - since it's a real turn on to be wearing very proper evening dress and masks for the beginning, before shedding the clothes as the night goes on.

It's also organized very well, from the membership vetting process online, to the events themselves. Even if there is a shake up at the organizer level (some people move, or other parts of their lives change their schedules), the parties keep coming, and there's always some new people at each event who are eager to explore. Membership does require (or at least expect) you to help with the planning and set up of some events throughout the year, and this is another great way to feel like you are contributing to the community.

Cons
  • For some, not having an actual regular location can be frustrating not only in terms of travel, but of comfort, since you have to orient yourself to a new location at each event. While the events are usually held in upscale hotels or rented condos, it's frustrating planning a new route and having to pack accordingly.

Because it is a club in the sense of a group of people meeting regularly and not an actual physical building, the only constant are the other members, and that means there's a lot less anonymity, which some people might not be comfortable with. When attending a sex club establishment, it is a lot easier to quickly meet with someone or another couple and then go to the back lounge area, get intimate, and never see them again. With a club of regular members, where you will see them frequently, you may get bored at the 'selection' as well as feel like you don't have as much privacy as you would otherwise.

Like a lot of sex clubs, there is always the challenge of having too many men and not enough women. While sex club establishments can simply have 'no single men' events, or cap the amount of single men allowed inside to keep a balance, sex clubs like this cannot exactly do this.
