CONCLUSION:

When it comes to Calgary sex clubs or swinger communities, Club Rendezvous Calgary is definitely my favourite. My partner and have tried a few others (both in the city, and on some vacations), but we've always come back to this one. The organizers and the staff are absolutely amazing, keeping the place clean and ready for any sort of action that might go down. They book awesome events, and even small things like free snacks are really appreciated (on some particularly hot nights, you can really work up an appetite)

What really sets them apart, though, is their online presence, because even though there's obviously no substitute to skin on skin (and sometimes skin on skin on skin), it's still a pretty sexy experience just meeting other people on their message board, because you're already fantasizing about meeting them in person later in the week. Pros

  • The first step into the swinger community is the hardest one, because of course you're kind of nervous, no matter how adventurous you and your partner are in your sex life in general. But Club Rendezvous Calgary does a great job at putting you at ease even before you step through the club's front door. Being able to meet members online before going to the club is a great way to get plenty of firsthand information, so you can make the decision if this is right place for you. And by doing that, you already start to feel more relaxed and comfortable. We've had a lot of fun flirting online with couples, and then continuing the flirting when finally meet face to face at the club, and when that happens it's not long before the double date becomes more like a foursome.

    The variety of the events (including fundraising ones for charity around Christmas time) just makes going to the club an even better experience, because if you're already having a good time out, there's less pressure to try to make something sexual happen, and just letting the night unfold naturally. Some nights we've gone there and had a great time watching the entertainment, and then just went upstairs and had fun by ourselves (and sometimes people watched, which was a real turn on).

    On a more practical level, the fact that it's close to the airport means it's easy to get to from anywhere in Calgary, and it's a fun way to meet swinging tourists, who can tell you about the community in their own backyards.

Cons

  • Maybe the only downside to Club Rendezvous Calgary is that because they have a really good online presence, you meet people mainly through the site's own web community (at least my partner and I did at first). That means you almost schedule with each other when you're both going to the club. And all that's great, but it almost makes it difficult to meet other people there for the first time. I wouldn't say that people are necessarily stuck up or distant (everyone was at least polite when they say 'no thank you' or 'not interested'), but it was almost like a lot people - singles or couples - were waiting for someone they've already met online to arrive. As the night progresses and things get hotter, people open up a lot more in a lot of ways, but at first, you might find it hard to talk to people for the first time and get a really enthusiastic response from them.
