INTRODUCTION:

My wife and I have checked out many of the other lifestyle clubs since moving to San Francisco, but for some reason we hadn't heard about Twist SF until recently. As much as having a steady community of swingers to play with is nice, we're also very interested in keeping our sex life fresh, and a new club with new couples and singles is always a great way to give things a little bit of a boost when they've perhaps been feeling stale.

I know it's hard to believe that swinging can get stale, but it's the curse of the swinger to always want a new experience. It's a large part of why we bring other people into our sexual relationships.

We found out that Twist SF has Erotic Couple's Yoga so we decided to make that our first outing to the club, and treat it as a mixer night like many lifestyle clubs have so that you can get to know other members a little bit before you jump right into having sex with them.

We clearly didn't read the description properly, because after the yoga session, things turned into a full-blown orgy, and even though we weren't expecting to hook-up with anyone that night, we sure did! It was a surprising but enjoyable first experience at the new club!

ABOUT:

Twist SF is very clear about the fact that it's a place for couples in its outdoor signage, but you'd be surprised how many singles saw try to get in on our second visit to the club. I understand why they'd be so excited to get in on the fun, but the fact that the club is clearly being advertised as a sex club on street level is something I haven't seen that often in the lifestyle community. Usually things are a little more discreet, which is the way I prefer things to be. My wife would scream "We're swingers, and we're going in here to fuck other couples!" every time we go to a club if it weren't for the fact that it would embarrass me.

There were plenty of opportunities for her to let her exhibitionist side run wild once we were inside the club though, so it's not like I was keeping her from having fun.

Right away, we were both struck by how modest but well decorated the club was. A large enough dance floor, lots of video screens showing porn, and plenty of couches in the lounge area to either unwind and chat, or play.

A lot of swingers clubs lately have started keeping booze out of them in order to keep potential issues of drunkenness out of their hair. While I understand that, I was happy to see that they have a BYOB bar, and really impressive buffet for when you get hungry after a good shag.

FEATURES:

-18+ couples only

-Admission to Twist SF is only available with a personal invitation (check the Twist website to find out more about how you can receive an invitation to become a member)

-Large club area that's easily accessible via public transit or car

-Two floors of club space allow for a wide variety of how you can party the night away

-Plenty of hot couples who are looking to hook-up with other couples, but some couples are only there to have sex in front of other couples, and this must be respected

-Consent is stressed in the club rules, and if anyone is harassing you or your partner, simply inform a staff member, and they will be escorted out of the club immediately

-Many types of furniture, so no matter where you like to do it, you'll be happy

-Many large video screens showing some of the hottest in new porn

-Erotic Couple's Yoga happens every Wednesday night at Twist between 7:30 and 9PM, followed by a group play session (yoga mats not provided by the club)

-Friday nights host Twist Plus nights, where a select number of invited single men are allowed to join in the fun, creating a lot more MMF three-ways than you'll usually find at the club

-Saturday nights are Twist Private Party nights from 10PM to 4AM, where only couples are admitted, and the night's events are heavily influenced by some of the hottest lifestyle parties that the owners have attended

-2 full bathrooms with a shower

CONCLUSION:

Though certainly not perfect, there's so much great and fresh energy going on at Twist SF, that I would recommend it to anyone who looking for a new club to try out.

There were definitely some older couples at the club when we went, but I think that because of how new the club is, and perhaps its location, there were more younger couples who're new to swinging than I've seen that often in San Francisco. One couple that we met at the Erotic Couple's Yoga went home early that night, but came back on the Saturday, a little more relaxed, and we had a great time playing with them. We might even socialize with them outside of the club.

Of course swingers clubs aren't for everyone, and and the rules can seem a little too strict for some couples who might have a member who's only interested in watching their partner have sex with someone else. Pros
  • Twist SF is still a relatively new club, and in some ways you can tell, but that freshness to the community is also something that both my wife and I would consider a plus, There's a youthful energy to the way that the club is run, that is hard to find in a community that's largely made up of older couples. And that's not to disrespect the community O.G.s that paved the way for all of the clubs and sex parties that happen in San Francisco, but just to say that sometimes fresh blood is good.

The layout of Twist is well done, and allows all types of activities to happen in what's not a small space, but is rather a good sized space that's well utilized.

My wife and I love a cocktail from time to time, so it was nice to be at a club where you could bring your own booze to, and have a bartender mix you a drink. Many BYOB bars at lifestyle clubs aren't staffed by the most experienced bar staff. Not the case at Twist SF. The bartenders are hot as hell, but also know their stuff, and can mix just about any cocktail you want provided it has easy mix ingredients, and you've brought all of the booze.

I was a little nervous about the open packs of Altoids that were all over the club but the buffet was legit good, and I might suggest to my wife that we go a little early next time for a light dinner before our fun.

Cons
  • We had a great time here, but a couple things bothered me.

The club has a fairly laid back stance on STDs, and in its rules seems to try to wash its hands of it. While I understand that it's a very difficult thing to keep track of as a club, the wording of the club rules is really lacking in my opinion. Of course the lifestyle community has a very good track record of being careful about STDs, but my wife and I go to swingers clubs for a care-free good time, and when the club has such a lax stance on their responsibility concerning STDs, it's a little odd.

The other thing that I'm not super into about the club, which I already mentioned, is that there's signage in the club's windows that lets everyone that walks by the building know that it's a swingers club. It's odd to be a private club, but then not be interested in keeping the going-ons of the club private. Not a huge deal in the end of course, because the most important part of a swingers club is the other members, and its digs. Both of those things are top notch, so we'll keep coming back, but it's something that might be worth thinking about the next time the ownership decides to get some new signage, or needs to move the club (god forbid, because its current location is actually one of the most convenient for us in the city, so we hope it stays put!)
