There aren't all that many online dating sites that are featured in major motion picture comedies, but when I went to the movies a while back to see Daddy's Home 2, starring Will Ferrell, Mark Wahlberg, and Mel Gibson, I laughed so hard at the scene that had SeniorMatch.com in it. Then after when I got home, I thought back on the scene and wondered if it was a real website. Because if it was, it might be something I was interested in trying out.

I typed it into my Google, and what do you know... It was! I signed up for an account, and my life hasn't been the same ever since.

I didn't use the internet for much other than the odd e-mail to my family, and to download some movies, but now that I've joined SeniorMatch.com, I'm probably sitting in front of my computer more often than I really should be. On the other side though, it's getting me to go out on a lot of dates, so that's doing some good. There are so many different reasons that members join, which I think is one of the most interesting parts of the site so far. I'm still a fairly new member though, so only time will tell how I feel about it. I've got a really good idea of it already though!

Like I said, I originally just went to the site because I didn't believe that it was a real thing. So that's a pretty impressive feat. I'm not sure how many other mature dating sites there were when SeniorMatch.com first came out, but I can only imagine that there weren't many. So even if just for the fact that they'r the biggest, and probably one of the longest-running dating sites for seniors, I'd say you should join SeniorMatch.com without a second thought.

I've been feeling so much better about life ever since I signed-up for my free membership, and I really can't thank the makers of th site enough. There are so many great things that I've been able to do since joining, and so many new friends (some more friendly than others!) that I would have never met if I hadn't gone to see that mediocre comedy sequel on that fateful day.

The number of other singles in your area is going to make your head spin, and if you get lucky, hopefully you'll find yourself on a few great dates with sexy single seniors that make your head spin too.

Pros

So far I've been having a great experience on the site. Probably the thing that's impressed me the much so far is just how many single seniors there a who're using the site. I hadn't considered that there would be enough computer literate seniors out there who would use the internet in order to connect with other seniors. I guess that it makes sense considering how many seniors are connected to their families through Facebook these days.
  
The way that the site serves different desires is very impressive. The desires of someone who's looking to go out on a few dates, and maybe get lucky are not the same needs as someone who's looking for someone to go on a three week trip across Europe though. Those are very different, but the site balances it well.
  
The different ways that seniors can use the site is also a great way to remind seniors that even though they're older, they're still alive and have a lot of different things in their lives. Encouraging senior citizens to get out of the house more often, and make connections with other seniors is wonderful.
  
I've felt much more energized lately because of all of the dates that I've been going out on. It had been a while, and whether or not I'd go on another date ever again was certainly not the brightest looking of situations before I discovered the world of mature dating sites. It's been the biggest eye-opener of my life recently.

Cons

Zero complaints from me on this site. Actually... I guess my biggest issue might be how long the site has been around without me knowing about it. Since 2003?? Seriously? I could have been having lots of fun in the last handful of years if I'd known about the site. It's weird to think that I mostly owe my love and sex life to Will Ferrell. Thanks, Anchorman! And Dirk Diggler too, I guess. I'm not thanking Mel Gibson though.
  
Actually, one other thing that would be helpful is to be able to search for users based on income. The seniors who are on the travel section are obviously relatively well-off, so they're going to want to do expensive things. I've gone on a couple dates however, where my date clearly expected me to spend more money. I'm a pensioner though, and the other pensioners that I've gone out with of course understand that that means that I don't have a lot of extra money lying around for expensive dates. It's not the end of the world, but it's something that the site designers might want to consider in their next update of the search and browsing features. Maybe they could hire me as an idea man, and then I would have more spending money in order to go out on some fancy dates with.
  
Otherwise, this is a fantastic site that I have more good things to say about than bad ones. That's always a good sign in my books.
